The Blue Ridge Art Clan began in the early 1970s when Florence Thomas and her students met with a professional artist for art lessons. The classes evolved into the flourishing organization it is today with over 40 members from Ashe and surrounding counties. It represents and supports excellence in the Fine Arts. The Blue Ridge Art Clan sponsors educational opportunities for its members, who range from beginning to experienced artists, by providing workshops, critiques, exhibits, and demonstrations in a variety of media.Meetings are held on the 4th Saturday during March through October at the Ashe County Library, West Jefferson, NC. An educational program is planned for each of these monthly meetings. Anyone interested in joining is welcome to attend. The annual membership fee is $35.
