                    FlorenceThomas  Art School is located at 264 Trading Post Road in the quaint community of Glendale Springs, North Carolina. Just 15 minutes from West Jefferson.
                    Directions From Winston Salem / Charlotte:From Intersection of I-77 & 421: Take HWY 421 North travel 23 miles on HWY 421 through Wilkesboro.  (2 miles past the Wal-Mart Shopping Center in Wilkesboro), turn right on Hwy 16 North.  Travel approx. 20 miles to the Glendale Springs Community, turn right onto Trading Post Road, travel 2/10 mile and turn right onto paved driveway and the classroom is on the Right. Directions From Boone / Blowing Rock:HWY 421 S to Deep Gap, Left on 221 for 2.8 miles, turn right on Idlewild Rd. follow until ends, turn right on 163 follow until ends at 16, turn left and follow for approximately 2.5 miles to the Glendale Springs Community, turn right onto Trading Post Road, travel 2/10 mile and turn right onto paved driveway and the classroom is on the Right.P

                    Blue Ridge Parkway. Glendale Springs offers direct access to the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 259. The North Carolina High Country features some of the most photographed, most visited parts of the Parkway including Linn Cove Viaduct, Moses Cone Manor, Doughton Park, Linville Falls and many, many, other picturesque, historic spots.

                    Mt Jefferson State Natural Area & New River State Park.  Two of Ashe County's most recognized natural landmarks, providing a variety of opportunities for landscape painting, nature journaling and other recreational activities.
                    Greenhouse Crafts has the area's largest selection of local and worldwide crafts and gifts. Treasures waiting to be discovered include beautiful handcrafts, books, tapes and CD's, candles, cards galore, jewelry, collectibles, Tom Clark gnomes, sculptures, Celtic designs, Christmas ornaments, traditional music, folk instruments and so much more!

                    Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. This church is one of two located in the Blue Ridge area that have the famous Ben Long fresco paintings. Built in 1901, it still has weekly services and is open to all visitors.

                    Raccoon Holler Campground. The Miller family invites you to camp at their cool, beautifully shaded campground and enjoy the fishing lake and views of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

                    Zaloo's Canoes. Cool off and enjoy a peaceful trip down the National Scenic & Wild New River - canoeing, tubing and camping trips offered from 2 hours to a week. Safe family fun!
